Prayers for the People of Ukraine
As we mark the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, a prayer for Ukraine, written by our archbishops at the start of the war;
God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen
Archbishop Justin Welby
Archbishop Stephen Cottrell

Prayers for the Benefice
Each week we join our Baptist friends in praying for a local road or street.
Brendon Road in Watchet
Dovetons Close in Williton
Pray for God’s blessing on those who live there.
Today’s Collect prays that we may ‘return to the way of righteousness’. During Lent we are encourage
to examine our lives in the light of God’s commandments, and of Christ’s example,
so that we realize the ‘errors’ that have led us astray. Then, assured of Christ’s forgiveness and fellowship,
we can return to the right way and ‘follow all such things as are agreeable’ to it.
The Collect
Almighty God, you show to those who are in error the light of your truth,
that they may return to the way of righteousness: grant to all those who are admitted
into the fellowship of Christ’s religion, that they may reject those things that are contrary
to their profession, and follow all such things as are agreeable to the same; through our
Lord Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
The Bible Course
Over 20 people from across the benefice were at the introductory evening for
The Bible Course on 1st March. It looks like it will be a really interesting course,
easy to follow and engaging. It is not too late to join! The next session is on Wednesday 8th March at 7pm,
in the Meeting Room, Williton and continues
each Wednesday evening in Lent.
You can get a flavour of the course by checking
out the first session, using this link:-
